Storage Container for Charity
When a parent from The Prout School approached Outback Storage about using a container for storage for their Operation Warm Welcome project, Outback’s owner, Keith Tremblay was happy to support the student-led effort. The container is located at Outback Storage headquarters on 11 Gavitt Ave. and is serving as the home-base for consolidating donations collected by both The Prout School and Monsignor Clarke School students.
Prout student Ben Leal and Operation Warm Welcome Administrator Ava Grosso, a Prout senior, load boxes of donated clothing to be provided to welcome Afghan refugees currently staying at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, as they await resettlement in the U.S.
The Project
Students from The Prout School started the project to help the nearly 14,000 Afghan refugees who are waiting at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin before being resettled in throughout the U.S. The project will help bring relief from the cold and much needed necessities to refugees, many of whom fled their homes with only the clothing on their backs.
“Our team at Outback Storage was happy to support the charitable works of the students at The Prout School with a container for storage of their donations before they make their way to Wisconsin,” said Keith Tremblay, Owner of Outback Storage. “We posted about the project on our social media pages and even received donations from our customers. As the holidays and cold weather approach, it’s even more important to remember those in need of assistance.”
The Result
The students at The Prout School were able to collect hundreds of pounds of winter clothing and boots for both children and adults to take to Team Rubicon at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Way to go kids!
